1. Men's Basketball (last issue: 3)– The Men’s Basketball team lost to Coby Sawyer on Monday night 90-82 bringing their season record to 2-2. Led by Senior Jack Preston (Nashua, N.H.), the Bench exploded for 60 points in the loss. 

2. Women's Basketball (last Issue: 4)- The Women’s Basketball team suffered their second straight defeat Tuesday night after a 63-55 loss to Colby sawyer. After a team leading 12 points from Seniors DeAsia Lawrence (Middletown, Conn.) and Kayla Wyland (Melrose, Mass.), PSU trailed 55-54 with 3:39 left in the game. The chargers scored eight-straight points, including a pair of back-breaking three-pointers, to secure the win bringing PSU’s record to 1-3

3. Men’s Hockey (last issue:1) – Matt Volonnino (Hack- etstown, NJ) scored 17 seconds into the third period, but it wasn’t enough as the PSU Men’s Ice Hockey Team  fell in overtime to Fitchburg State last Saturday night bringing their 2016-17 record to 4-3-0. The Men’s team will travel to Westfield state on Saturday for a 5:30 showdown against the Nestors. 

4. Women’s swimming: (last issue: UR)– The PSU Women’s Swimming and Diving team won three individual events while splitting a tri-Meet two weeks ago, defeating Western New England University by a team score of 154-82, but lost to the meeting host Eastern Connecticut State University by a score of 145-99 at the Sports Center Pool in Willimantic, Conn. The Swim Team’s next meet will be Saturday afternoon at the PSU Natatorium against Rhode Island College.

Individual athletes

1. Jack Preston (Nashua, NH): Preston led a trio of Panther reserves in double-figures, finishing Monday night’s game with a team- high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting.

2. Thierry Messervier (Montreal, Que.): Messervier posted a 1-1 record two weeks ago, registering a 1.26 goals against aver- age and a .941 save percentage. He stopped all ten shots he faced in 34 minutes in a 10-1 win over Framingham State and made 22 saves on 24 shots in the 2-1 overtime loss to Fitchburg State.

Kayla Wyland (Melrose, MA) Wyland registered 12 points and five rebounds in Tuesday night’s loss to Colby Sawyer.  

4. Ace Lawrence (Middletown, CT) Lawrence was tied for the team high in points with Wyland registering 12 points and five assists in Tuesday night’s game.
