Women's Lacrosse Continues Win Streak

Tuesda y April 25, the Pl ymouth women’s lacrosse team traveled away to play the Keene State Owls in an LEC game. The Panthers have been on a winning streak this season with a record of (9-2) regular season and (5-0) LEC with their victory over Keene to add to it.

In the first half Keene State came out strong with two rapid-fire goal scored by Kelly Chadnick (assisted by Gabby Smith) and an unassisted goal by Taylor Farland. Plymouth didn’t take long to reciprocate the goals, first by junior Megan Tingley ( Natick, M.A) and followed by two cannon goals by junior Sam Sullivan (Canton, M.A) assisted by senior Kaitlyn Wilder (Framingham, M.A) and sophomore Veronyca Daniels (Concord, N.H). 

Keene State scored their last goal of the first half with 15 minutes to go by Tori Weinstock, assisted by Farland. For the Panthers, Sullivan scored twice more, Tingley, Daniels and senior Caroline Vonachen (Framingham, M.A) all netted one to end the half.

Starting second half Keene came out with the first goal from Gabby Smith, assisted by Chelsea Lewis followed minutes later by another Owl goal by Taylor Farland. Plymouth scored a total of five goals in this half starting from Wilder from Tingley, two by Sophomore Kimmie Zuccaro (Townsend, M.A) from Caroline Vanachen (Framingham, M.A)

In the final minutes of the game Tingley scored for the Panthers on a free position shot and another by Vanachen. Keene State tried one final attempt to come back with a last goal by Taylor Farland but it wouldn’t be enough to stop the Panthers. The ending score Plymouth State 13-6, the Panthers will play again at home this weekend hosting Eastern Connecticut.
