The Plymouth State Wrestling team competed in the Wildcat Open at Johnson & Wales. The tournament was a no team scoring event, so it was based upon a bracket system within the separate weight classes. Senior Matt Froio (Cohasset, Mass.) finished 6th in the 197 class after going 2-2 in that bracket. Billy Dunn finished 2-2 in the 165 class but did not place in his respective class.
On Saturday the 2nd, The Panthers will return to Johnson & Wales for a quad that includes the hosts, Castleton, and Springfield. Their next match after that comes on the 9th of February when they travel to Western New England for their final match of the regular season. Regionals start on the 23rd at Johnson & Wales and Nationals take place during the first week of March.
