DJ Bad Larry, TPOW and Aldo spend Tuesday nights spinning tunes on their show “The Four Hour Shower with the Dudes” at WPCR, PSU’s student radio station. DJ Bad Larry, more commonly known as Will Secunde, is a communication and media studies major who found a home at WPCR.

“I went to the student activities fair and saw WPCR had cool stickers and sunglasses,” said Secunde. “Communications and radio kind of go hand-in-hand, so I decided, sure, why not? I’ll join.”

Secunde said he grew up around music, so joining the organization was a natural fit. “My dad was in bands, and we always had instruments around in the house,” he said. “My brother is going to school to be a classical music composer, so we’ve always had music playing.”

Following his passion for music, Secunde was in a band and played ten shows with them. He mainly plays drums, but can also play the saxophone, bass and guitar.

“When everything meshed really well together, you feel a connection with these people. It’s a really cool experience. You can’t replicate it.”

Now, Secunde shares his love of music on his radio show. The two other DJs are Tyler Powers (also known as TPOW), and Aldo Parisot.

“We all have really different tastes in music,” said Secunde. “Tyler likes a lot of old school hip hop, blues and jazz, Aldo listens to a lot of psyche– delic rock stuff, and then I listen to a lot more indie and punk.”

Secunde’s favorite kinds of music include punk, rock and emo-influenced music. His current favorite bands include Jank, Now, Now, American Football and nothing, nowhere.

“I’m at the point where I can enjoy anything I listen to,” said Secunde “I think that the music I listen to marks where I am as a person. I am much more open and relaxed now, and the music I listen to reflects that.”

“The Four Hour Shower with the Dudes” airs Tuesday nights from 7 p.m.- 11 p.m. on 91.7 WPCR.
