After a rocky start on the road, the Plymouth State women’s volleyball team dominated inside Foley Gymnasium, downing Framingham State 3-1. Senior Kayla Wyland (Melrose, Mass) led the team in kills (16), and sported a .438 attack average.

Junior Megan Bailey (Canterbury, NH) would keep the visitors off track, posting multiple service aces in the first set. Bailey, who finished with 46 assists and seven aces, would be a big factor in the Panthers’ 25-12 win in the first set.

Plymouth would finish off the second set after rallying to tie at 16 apiece.

After winning the first two sets, Framingham wouldn’t go down without a fight. Alycia Rackliffe had an outstanding evening for the Lady Rams, posting 23 kills and 10 digs, and fought her team into winning set number three.

Plymouth would pull out a victory in the fourth set after trailing 22-18. Several Panthers stood out in the offensive category, including captains Claire Sporer (Medford, OR) and Brianna Wojtas (Salem, NH), who tallied nine kills apiece. Fellow captain Brenna Peruch (Cave Creek, Ari.) led the team in digs with 18, though there were four other players who struck double digits in the category.

Up next for the Panthers is the Granite State Challenge at Daniel Webster College, where they match up against rival Keene State. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30.
