Two skiers represented the Panthers at the NCAA Championship in Steamboat Springs, CO. Freshman Freydis Halla Einarsdottir (Gardabaer, Iceland) and Senior Max Martin (Salt Lake City, Utah) both competed in giant slalom and slalom against 33 other competitors from across the country. Einarsdottir placed 12th in the slalom, which is the best result in school history at the NCAA Championships. Einarsdottir is the first woman ever to represent Plymouth State at the championships and the 12th place was an amazing feat. Martin placed 23rd in the giant slalom, which was one place shy of his best NCAA finish at PSU. He also placed 33rd in the slalom competition. This is the third straight season that PSU has sent skiers to the national championship.
After a strong campaign over the winter in the ALLWell North Center, the Track and Field teams take their talents to fresh air with the spring session being outdoors. Led by runners Sam Brunnette (Newport, VT) and Isaiah Bolden (Dover, NH) they look to stay strong on the men’s side. While on the women’s side, the sprint relay team showed a lot of strength over the winter and will try to keep that momentum rolling into the spring. Since the campus has no outdoor track, all events will be out on the road with the first being Saturday, April 2nd when they will be at UMass Dartmouth.
