Castleton, Vt. – The women’s soccer team of Castleton State College played host to Plymouth State in non-conference this past Monday at Spartan Stadium.
Castleton State came out swinging early, as they scored twice within the first 11 minutes of play. The Panthers were unable to answer the strong play of Castleton and faced a 2-0 deficit going into the 2nd half. The Spartans came out with the same intensity as the first when they scored early to put the score at 3-0. Plymouth State got called for an own goal after a small scrum in front of the Plymouth net resulted in an attempted clear being driven into the goal to put the score at 4-0. Castleton State scored a final goal with minutes to go to end game with a score of 5-0.
