What’s a floodplain? Come find out! Students from the Environmental Science and Policy Seminar class are hosting a public information session about floodplains on the Plymouth Town Commons, Saturday May 11th. Stop by between 12:00 – 3:00 PM.
This event is free and open to the public where people can learn about the benefits and disruptions related to floodplains. Students will present this information from three perspectives: geophysical/environmental, economic, and social.
This event is being hosted by PSU students to create awareness and provide information about the future development of Tenney Mountain Highway. The tentative schedule of events includes a poster and discussion session with ES&P students, guest speaker, a question and answer session, a tour of the floodplain in Plymouth, and LIVE MUSIC from Zach Brown and Brendan Gill.
The floodplain tour will be led by Doug McLane and depart around 3:15 PM, ending near Hannaford where people can be shuttled back to campus.
