
The last two games have been difficult for the Plymouth State Men’s Lacrosse team. They lost to New England College 16-11 and UMass Boston 23-4. The losses drop the Pack to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the Little East Conference.On Thursday, April 18, 2002 the Panthers hosted the Pilgrim’s New England College. The Pack quickly jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but by the end of the first quarter the Panthers were only leading by one. By halftime the Pilgrims had combined for nine goals and a three goal lead, making the score 9-6. In the second half the Pilgrims added seven more and took home a win from Plymouth. Panther goals scored by senior Andrew Quesnel, senior Eric Gilbert, junior Ken McGuire, and sophomore Sam Harding who each sniped twice. Juniors Jason Bierdrycki and Kevin Finnerty, and freshman Pat O’Malley each tallied one for the Pack. Junior goalie Dan Egan made eleven stops.On Saturday, April 20, 2002 Umass Boston handled the Panthers 23-4 at Clark Athletic Center in Boston. At halftime Boston had a 15-3 lead and in the second half the Pack gave up eight and only scored once. Scoring for the Pack, seniors Nolan Fredericks and Eric Gilbert, junior Ken McGuire, and sophomore Sam Harding.Plymouth State closes out the regular season at home against Umass Dartmouth. The game is tomorrow, April 27, 2002 and a Little East Conference match-up.
