Panthers fall to Colby-Sawyer and Keene State

 

Plymouth, NH- The Panthers traveled to New London, New Hampshire on September 17th to face the Colby-Sawyer Chargers. The Panthers looked to get their second win of the season while the Chargers looked to get their sixth. It turned out to be a one-sided match where the Chargers shut out the Panthers 6-0. The Panthers traveled back home to face Keene State but were shutout 3-0; extending the Panthers losing streak to three.

The Panthers traveled to Kelsey Field In New London, New Hampshire where everything went wrong for the Panthers. The Chargers were able to double the amount of shots the Panthers took with 24, giving them a huge advantage throughout the contest. In the 18th minute, Tallon Tomasi started the Chargers’ route over the Panthers on a lose ball in front of the net for her third goal of the season. Michelle Upham was the star of the day, getting a hat trick, which gave her five goals on the season. Plymouth’s Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, NH) was able to save 8 of 14 shots on goal; Karey Hamilton of Colby-Sawyer saved all 5 shots on goal.

The Panthers came home to host Keene and looked to end their two game drought and get another win under their belt; Keene was looking for its fourth win of the season. The Owls would prove to be too much for the Panthers, holding them to five shots on goal and shutting out the Panthers 3-0. The Owls were able to get 23 shots, 14 which were on goal; Plymouth’s goaltender Annaliese Schmidt was able to save 11 but allowed 3 goals.
Plymouth’s Emily Bell (Derry, NH) led Plymouth with 4 shots, while the rest of the team only managed one shot on goal.

Plymouth will look to rebound as it continues its four game home stand, as they take on Southern Maine at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
