Cannon announced as ski package victor

The PSU ski package winner was announced during the Sun., Nov. 16 Student Senate meeting. Cannon Mountain was chosen for the second year in a row.

Students were able to vote for the mountain of his or her choice via the myPlymouth portal. There were four other mountains that offered bids to PSU. All were disguised during voting to prevent favoritism among the students by offering just the facts about the mountains.

“There were a good number of students who voted,” Ezra Dalton, Treasurer of the Student Senate said. Overall, 1,273 students voted for a ski package, “Most of those who voted said they were moderate to advanced skiers,” Dalton added.

Cannon was disguised as ski package “A” during the online voting. It received thirty-eight percent of the vote.

Transportation will again be provided to the mountain on certain days. It has not yet been decided on which days transportation will be provided, nor the times. More information will become available over the next few weeks.

After the winner was decided, the Senate voted unanimously to approve Cannon. Lift tickets will be nine dollars per student with a valid PSU I.D. The official start date has not yet been announced.
