PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University took five out of six singles matches and swept all three doubles en route to an easy 8-1 win over UMass-Dartmouth Saturday at the P.E. Center Courts.PSU’s top player, senior Whitney O’Leary (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) was defeated by UMD’s Noelle Judd (Burlington, Mass) at No. 1 singles. However, the Panthers won the other eight matches and evened their overall record at 2-2. The Corsairs fall to 1-2 on the season.O’Leary teamed with junior Erica Huckins (Holderness, N.H.) to capture the No. 1 doubles match. Senior Rachel Xavier (Meredith, N.H.) and sophomore Jill Deyermond (Akinson, N.H.) won at No. 2 doubles while seniors Sarah Cole (North Waterboro, Maine) and Liz Duell (Hopewell Valley, R.I.) also combined to win their match for PSU at No. 3 doubles.Singles winners for PSU included Deyermond at No. 2, Huckins at No. 3, Xavier at No. 4, Cole at No. 5 and freshman Meghan Rodier (Francestown, N.H.) at No. 6.The Panthers are back in action Wednesday in a Little East Conference match against Bridgewater State at the P.E. Center Courts (4:00 p.m.)
