PSU Students Displaced by Fire

PLYMOUTH – Plymouth Fire Department responded to a single alarm fire at 46 B Pleasant Street at mid-night, Friday September 23rd.

Fire officials arrived at the scene to a cloud of heavy smoke coming from one apartment of the three unit building occupied by Plymouth State University students, whose names are unavailable. The fire was under control by 1 AM.

There is fire damage to one wall and a covered porch and smoke damage to one apartment and minimal water damage. The estimated loss is at approximately $50,000.

All the PSU students were displaced. PSU Residential Life has provided two occupants with housing. The rest of the students are staying with family and friends.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Plymouth Fire Department and NH Fire Marshall’s Office.
