Mission Accomplished!

It’s that time of the year. Finals are bearing down on us. It’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We know everyone is a little stressed, so we at The Clock would like to take the time to recognize those who have helped to make this semester great. Maybe that will shed a little light in these dark times, so put down the books for a bit, sit back, relax and let the praise warm your heart. Enjoy!

First, we would like to extend our thanks to the student body, faculty, staff and alumni for their continued support of The Clock. We know we have gotten our fair share of criticism in the past and it’s great to know that we have an audience. If it weren’t for your support, we would not have a newspaper. The Clock Staff feels that we never take the time to thank our audience. So thank you very much, keep an eye out for our new issue after Winterim. Also, for those of you who read The Clock online, be aware that we will be upgrading our website in January. Hopefully we will be able to ring in the new semester with a classier, cleaner website.

Next, we would like to thank the faculty and staff. We had a great semester. The strength of the PSU administration and safety services was apparent this past October with the gunman scare. Students were notified of the situation quickly through email and text messages. The incident was resolved within hours. We feel that, although it was a false alarm, the threat was handled in a very professional manner.

While it may be controversial to do so, we thank the PSU students who would not let tradition die. Many students were upset when The Clock printed an editorial stating that PSU was no longer a school with recognized traditions. Hate mail started to flood our inboxes after that was published. Shortly after that snafu a few adventurous students decided to take matters into their own hands and place pumpkins on the roof of Rounds. While we can’t condone those actions, we do applaud the spirit of those involved.

Finally, thank you to the students at PSU. We all know finals may be taking a lot out of you, but hang in there! They will be over soon. Before you know it, this semester will be over and you will have a long, well-deserved break.

So study hard, keep doing what you do best. We at the Clock thank you for your continued support. PSU students are special, and we never take the time to recognize this. Work hard, study hard, and above all, keep it classy, PSU.
