Dear Editor,
As a mother and a full-time student at PSU, I have to say that I am very disappointed that there isn’t a single baby changing station anywhere on campus.
There are some days when my childcare provider cannot watch my daughter while I’m in class, so she must come with me (thank you, Professors!).
The fact of the matter is: babies poop, they pee and they get messy. It’s very discouraging when she’s got a full diaper and I have to change her in a hallway, on a computer desk, countertop or floor because there are no proper facilities on campus.
It’s hard enough to raise a child and got to school full-time. Please help out a hard working mom and put a baby changing station in each building so that my daughter doesn’t have to lie on a dirty surface to “get clean.”
PSU has done a great thing by creating the Frost School so that parents like myself may continue their education – so why haven’t they produced the facilities to support them in their endeavors?
If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes the help of this campus to raise mine.
Thank you,Sheena Baldwin
