Hage and Wheeler receive honors for their work

PLYMOUTH – The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) has recently recognized Vice-President for Student Affairs, Dick Hage, and Residence hall Director, Paul Wheeler, for their great service on campus.

Dick Hage, received the Scott Goodnight Award for outstanding performance in the community.

“It was very clear to the committee from the nomination materials that you have demonstrated a strong commitment to students and the profession of student affairs,” states the notification, which Hage received from NASPA. “As well as making a significant contribution to programming at Plymouth State University that promotes learning and development.”

The recipient of this award must be a dean who has demonstrated and sustained professional service in student affairs work, administrative skills, innovative response in meeting students’ needs, effectiveness in developing junior staff members, and leadership in the campus community.

Hage’s recognition will be sent to NASPA’s National office for consideration at the national level.

Paul Wheeler, has received the Outstanding Mid-level Student Affairs Professional Award for the state of New Hampshire.

To be considered for this award a person must have served a minimum of five years, demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the profession and contributed to programs that address the needs of students. Most importantly the recipient must be experienced in creating campus environments that promote student learning and personal development.

Vice-President Hage and Mr. Wheeler were recognized at the NASPA Regional Conference in Sturbridge, Mass. on November 8, 2005, where they received their awards.
