Danbury, Conn. – The Plymouth State women’s were on the road to open their Little East Conference play, as they play against both Western Connecticut State, then playing against Lasell College in a non-conference match.

The first game saw PSU playing against Western Conn in a game that was incredibly close throughout. The scores were 27-25, 26-24, 25-18. The Panthers were able to pull out a win in their next came as they won 27-25, 26-24, 25-18 to end the day at 1-1, and 3-7 overall.

The standout players of the first game for the Panthers were senior Casey Stoodley (Salem, N.H.), junior Cassie Pelton (Brookline, NH), and freshman Kirsten Perrotta (Hudson, NH). Stoodley recorded 23 kills and 15 digs , with Perrotta having 40 assists and Pelton leading the defense with 21 digs.

Casey continued her stellar play in the next game as she had 16 kills. She helped with senior Elissa Morin (Nashua, N.H.) adding 8 and junior Kaitlyn Tedeschi (Pascoag, R.I.) and freshman Sam Clark (Covetry, R.I.) having six each.

Nashua, N.H. – The Plymouth State women’s volleyball team traveled to Nashua to square off against the team from Rivier University in what would turn out to be a great battle.

River was able to take the two first sets and looked ready to take the 3-0. However, the Panthers roared (yeah, I went there) back to take the next two sets to tie it up 2-2 going into the fifth set. The Panthers, who were holding a 7-2 lead at the time, looked ready to bring home the win when the Raiders went on an absurd 13-5 run to run the victory and move to 7-3 on the season.

The lady Panthers were lead against by the standout play of senior Casey Stoodley (Salem, N.H.) who had a season-high 29 digs with 18 kills on the day. Freshman Sam Clark (Coventy, R.I.) and Kristen Perrotta (Hudson, NH) contributed in a big way. Clark finished the day with eight kills, whereas Perrotta posted 31 assists and a team-high three aces.

Plymouth, N.H. – The Plymouth State women’s volleyball team played host to two of their biggest rivals, both conference and non-conference, as they welcomed the teams from the University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth and the University of Maine- Farmington.

The Panthers made quick work of the previously undefeated UMass Dartmouth team as they won their matches by scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 25-17. Senior Casey Stoodley (Salem, N.H.) continues to be a star for PSU as she lead the way with 16 kills, 11 digs, and three aces.
