Konnichiwa! The Anime Club was started in fall of 2003 and has continued to grow for the past three years. Anime is short for Japanese animation, a pop culture that is slowly sweeping all over the world. There are many different genres that are included in this type of animation from romance, comedy, horror, and more. The club meets every Monday night in Hyde 120 to view all different series and anime movies. There are also special nights where anime music videos are shown and DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) games are played. The club is also very active, competing in campus events such as Homecoming and Winter Carnival. It is also deeply involved with community service projects. The club has helped run the Clothing Drive along with PSU Volunteers during Hunger and Homelessness week and has contributed to The Angel Tree Project every year. The club has been to Anime Boston, the largest anime convention in New England for the past two years. PSU Anime Club will be holding its first ever anime convention, PansaCon, next October here on campus and many anime fans here on campus couldn’t be happier. They are anticipating a large turnout from anime fans all over New England. Students interested in learning more about Anime Club, please visit their website at http://oz.plymouth.edu/~anime or e-mail them at anime@mail.plymouth.edu.
