For all of your snow and skate needs

The newest addition the Plymouth Main Street community is White Mountain Snow and Skate, owned and operated by Matthew Eddy, 31, originally of Natick, Mass. Eddy has always made boarding a priority in his life and this is what he wants to do.

Seven years in the making, White Mountain Snow and Skate opened in November and has already made its name as one that is resonating with the Plymouth community. Carrying a good selection of some of the top brand names in the board industry, be it street, park or mountain. The prices are reasonable and in line with other retailers.

“If we can get it, we will,” said Eddy.

Eddy is just one of a two person team, working with store manager/buyer, Lee Cooper. Eddy credits Cooper as a vital part of the business and someone who has brought a good deal of knowledge to this location.

One initiative that is currently working its way through the new store is a petition for a skate park in Plymouth. The petition reads, “We the undersigned, as citizens of Plymouth and the surrounding area, support the development of a free public skatepark within our town. We recognize the need for and the benefits of a free public skatepark and believe the town should at the very least provide suitable land and agree to maintain the skatepark after construction, and at the most, fund, build and maintain the skatepark just as it would basketball court, tennis court or other public general-use area.” The petition has currently been signed by hundreds of members of the community.

On a more personal note, don’t let Eddy’s long blonde hair fool you – it’s all for a good cause. Eddy will be chopping off his hair for Locks of Love, an organization that is dedicated to providing hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 that are suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

White Mountain Snow And Skate is a store that is here to stay, offering products to children, teens and adults, with a mission to provide a comfortable, friendly and knowledgeable place to shop. Look forward to more events and collaborations with other retailers, similar to the board demo held a few weeks back. The hours of operation are Monday – Friday 11:00a.m.-7:00p.m., Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 10:00a.m.-6:00p.m. Please note that the store is closed on Wednesday’s.
