Senate committee offers help for allocations

Student Senate has assembled its annual Allocation Committee for Spring Semester and would like to start educating student-run organizations on how the allocation process works.

Allocations is a process in which all recognized and funded organizations and athletics attend hearings during the Spring Semester. To prepare for the Allocation hearings, groups need to create a pre-made budget for the academic year and state what the group is currently doing.

This year, the Allocations Committee will be run by Leslie Kingsley, a Plymouth State University senior, as well as the Treasurer of the Student Senate, Class of 2007, and PSU Volunteers. As chairperson for the committee, Kingsley has decided to run workshops for organizations in an attempt to meet face to face with groups before the hearings start in earlyFebruary. These sessions are by appointment only and are designed for all organizations to gain insight for their hearings in the spring.

As part of these sessions, groups who schedule a help session time slot will be given priority during allocation in the spring. Sessions will be held Monday Nov. 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in HUB 109 & Thursday Nov. 16 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in HUB 119.
