Not Out of the Woods Yet

For months we have been hearing about Tiger Woods and the ‘mysterious’ accident that occurred on Thanksgiving Eve. At first it seemed everybody, but the man himself was talking about what had happened. Finally, at a press conference last Friday we were able to hear from the caddy shack Casanova himself. In the nearly 14-minute apology, held at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida, Woods appeared in front of 40 hand-picked audience members. The golf pro’s mother was one of those in attendance, but his wife Elfin Nordegren was not. A few members of the media were asked to attend, but were not allowed to ask any questions.”I had affairs. I cheated. What I did is not acceptable. And I am the only person to blame,” said Woods to ESPN reporters. “I was wrong. I was foolish. I don’t get to play by different rules. The same boundaries that apply to everyone apply to me. I brought this shame on myself. I hurt my wife, my kids, my mother, my wife’s family, my friends, my foundation, and kids all around the world who admired me.” Woods admitted that he had been attending a rehabilitation center for in-patient therapy to help him with some unidentified “issues.” He said that he would be continuing his treatment the Saturday following the press conference. Woods responded to the rumors about his wife hitting him in involvement with the crash outside of his Orlando home three months ago by saying, “It angers me that people would fabricate a story like that. She never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage. Ever.” He went on to say that if anything Elin deserves Praise. Of course Woods apologized to his wife, his children, his mother, his fans, his fellow golfers, and just about everyone except his mistresses and now they want theirs. “He didn’t mention anything about the girls. It seems like he was just brushing it off and not getting into it. I think he should’ve mentioned something in regards to the girls, an apology or something,” lingerie model Loredana Jolie Ferriolo to The New York Post. Gold-digging hussies or Tiger’s pawns, these women still deserve some sort of apology. If Tiger wanted his marriage to be successful, as he says he does, perhaps he should have started by not having over a dozen affairs. By leaving his mistresses out of his apologies, some believe that Woods is saying that he just doesn’t care. Of course, the actions of these women are no better than Woods’, but they are still humans that have feelings. An apology wouldn’t be a bad idea publicity wise either. It would make Woods seem to be taking the ‘high’ road. Also, I’m sure it would stop them from talking to the press for a little while anyhow. I’m sure they were among the manipulated masses that assumed Woods was just as good a man as he seems from the Gillette commercials and were even more shocked to find out they were also being cheated on. Either way, I’m sure we won’t be hearing from Tiger Woods anytime soon.
