On Friday November 16th, the Plymouth State Student Senate and Wellness Center hosted the annual ‘Sex Bingo’ night in the Hage Room in the upper level of the HUB. The doors opened at 8 pm and the line to get in went all the way past the stairs and to the double doors. The hallway was buzzing with talk about how many people there were, and who the lucky 100 people to receive free t-shirts would be.
Even though the anticipation from the wait was almost too much to handle, it was entirely worth it. Having a place to put coats and bags made it a lot easier to navigate the crowded Hage Room. There were several rows of tables set up with bingo cards and a gift bag filled with condoms at every seat. Junior Cheyenne Mongeon said, “It was fun and they did a great job organizing it”.
The turnout was much bigger than expected, which naturally made the entire event that much more entertaining. While waiting for the event to start, junior student Megan O’Gara said, “I’m so excited because the prizes are really great”.
Everyone was intrigued by the various sex themed prizes and the room roared with laughter every time a winner would yell “I love sex. Safe sex is great sex!” at the top of their lungs in place of the traditional “Bingo”. One of the highlights of the night was when just about every single person in the room got overly upset when one lucky person won twice.
It was clear that everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves and realized going was their best decisions of the night. During an intermission between bingo and trivia rounds student and Orientation Leader Hillary Allen laughed as she said “It’s a lot of fun even though I haven’t won anything”.
At the end of the event, everyone was happy and talking about everything that had just happened. Sophomore and member of the Lamson Library’s IT staff Chad Johanson said, “It has been one of the most enjoyable activities run by the student senate and wellness center. They did a great job setting up and running the event”.
