The sweetest part of Easter

Easter is a holy day for many. For Christians, it is the day that marks the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples. Most chocoholics, though, think of it as a day whose importance is rivaled only by Halloween. Unique seasonal treats, like Cadbury Crème eggs become available, and peeps rule the day. Easter candy season begins early in Plymouth. Three major businesses in Plymouth carry a large stock of Easter candy: Rite-Aid, on Main Street, begins stocking their candy around the end of January. The Plymouth Wal-mart Super Center begins its offerings about a month in advance. Rite-Aid believes its most popular treat this season are Cadbury eggs. Wal-mart reports that a lot of peeps are being sold, along with a lot of Mini-Cadbury eggs. Hannaford Brothers reports that it’s strongest Easter candy sales this year most likely come from peeps. It has been stocking candy for around a month. Looks like the clucking bunny and the marshmallow chick are an even match for each other this year in Plymouth. The best part of Easter for candy-lovers, though, might come with the after-Easter sales. Candy is already on sale at Rite-Aid and has been the whole month – people can pick up a sugar fix for about 20 to 30% less than usual, typically. The last few years, there has been a bin of candy after Easter, too, that offers even better deals. Wal-Mart will cut their Easter candy prices to about half the day after Easter, and it will continue to get cheaper as time goes on and their stock remains. Hannaford Brothers is also going to lower its prices to half immediately after Easter, with a high likelihood of getting even cheaper in time. The candy is often bought out quickly by deal-seekers, and is typically all but gone by the end of April, so to partake in the sweetest part of Easter, people are urged to move fast to take advantage.
