Awestruck, the audience of the Vocal Order and Hyannis Sound show last Friday in the Boyd Science Center, was wowed by their electric performance.
Vocal Order, a seemingly random group of Plymouth State students, started off the night putting together different sounds and pitches to recreate popular favorites.
This entertaining group sings with an enthusiasm that comes from the heart, getting the audience excited about their music.
With the occasional wacky song like the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme” song, they put together a wide range together that most know and love, keeping the audience engaged and even prone to sing along.
Hyannis Sound followed Vocal Order. The powerful, funny and well composed a cappella group sang a vast array of songs from various artists including Gavin DeGraw, Neil Diamond and Eric Clapton.
The enthusiastic group works hard to pull the audience into their music. Their butt-spanking, yodeling, and piggy-backing antics were enough to keep the crowd interested and entertained. A large group of men singing Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” while wearing girly sunglasses was enough to have any audience member in hysterics.
For the finale the entire audience clapped and sang along while Vocal Order came back on stage as the two groups sang Simon and Garfunkel’s “Cecilia” together.
