Xbox One Brings All-in-One Entertainment to Gaming

When I first got my hands on the new Xbox One, I was ecstatic. I was ready to see everything that this console that I dished out an insane amount of money for could do. I must say, the Xbox One did not disappoint.
Microsoft has boasted that the Xbox One is all the entertainment you want rolled up into one console. They could not be more correct about this. The Xbox One has more than just a slick design. Inside it is everything that a young man such as myself could want from a console. From apps allowing you to browse the Internet, watch Netflix, access Youtube, stream music, watch Blu-Rays, rent and purchase the latest movies, and even Skype with friends, the Xbox One has it all. The transitions between these different apps are almost seamless. The Xbox One immediately responds to voice commands like “Xbox go to Netflix” or “Xbox resume game”, and while the voice control is not intended to be the biggest attraction for customers to the Xbox One, you can certainly have a good time zooming through the different apps and menus with ease simply by speaking to your console.
When it comes to the actual games, the Xbox One delivers solid exclusives such as “Ryse: Son of Rome” and the highly anticipated “Dead Rising 3”, with amazing, realistic graphics and the most fluent gameplay that I, an avid gamer, have ever experienced. Not once during any lengthy play-through did any of these games lag or have choppy game mechanics. The one drawback to these large-scale games is the fact that when you buy a new game you must install it onto the Xbox One’s 500-megabyte hard drive. And while it is nice to have such a large amount of storage space, installing the games can sometimes be a lengthy process.
The Xbox One also deserves praise for its multiplayer capabilities. With the Xbox One’s new networking capabilities, every game that you want to play online now matches you with other gamers who are playing in the same area of the world, with the same type of network connection, so that you can get the best possible experience mechanically from your game while playing online. It also has the capability of synching eight controllers to the console at once, allowing for large groups of friends to play together.
When it comes down to it, you have to admit that Microsoft has certainly outdone themselves with the Xbox One. They have successfully put most, if not all of our entertainment into one place like they promised they would. The Xbox One is an amazing piece of technology, and is sure to be enjoyed by gaming fans for years to come.
