Women’s Basketball looks to Rebound

The Plymouth State women’s basketball team traveled to Poughkeepsie, New York this past weekend for their season opener in the Vassar Tip-Off Tournament. The team fell to both Brooklyn College, 67-54, and Wellesley College, 54-37.

In Friday’s game against Brooklyn, freshman Rosalie Edmonds (Goffstown, N.H.) lead the Panther with 11 points and six rebound in her collegiate debut. Junior Kristen Hrubowchak (Litchfield, N.H.) tallied eight points off the bench, while sophomore forward Bry Bennett (Lancaster, N.H.) ripped down a team-high eight rebounds in the effort.

In Saturday’s game against Wellesley, senior Kait Deering (Sidney, ME) lead the team with 11 points, while sophomore Taylor Perry (Simsbury, CT) chipped in with eight points of her own. Bry Bennett had another strong game contributing six points and six rebounds, and senior Krystin Corliss (Loudon, N.H.) recorded five points and five rebounds in the effort.

The Panthers play again on Saturday, November 23rd, as they host Lyndon State in their first home contest of the 2013-2014 season.
