Ingerson Leads the Way for The Panthers in Shutout Win

Plymouth, N.H. – In one of the more impressive performances of the young 2012-2013 men’s hockey season, junior goaltender Tyler Ingerson (Concord, N.H.) stopped all 35 shots faced, including 14 in the final frame, to lead the Panthers to a 1-0 shutout of Fitchburg State University this past Saturday at Hanaway Rink.

The only goal of the game came with only: 43 seconds remaining in the second period. Senior Kyle Greco (Hillside, Ill.) fired off a pass to sophomore Mike Freitag (Westmont, Ill.),who was able to sneak it past the Falcons goaltender for the game winner.

Fitchburg was able to outshoot the Panthers by a wide margin of 35 – 22, including 14-6 in the third.

The Panthers record now stand at 7-1 for the season after posting their sixth consecutive victory, and continue to remain atop the MASCAC with a 5-1 record in conference play.

Plymouth State will wrap up the semester next Saturday as they celebrate Salute the Troops Day at Hanway Rink with a non-conference game against Southern New Hampshire University. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
