The Enterprise Center at Plymouth

Since the end of the 2013 school year Plymouth State students have seen the quick construction at One Bridge Street. After an abundance of hard work it was the pleasure of Plymouth State University and all of those associated with the Grafton County Economic Development Council to announce the opening of the Enterprise Center at Plymouth on October 15, 2013. This center is an incubator that is here to help small business succeed and grow. The Center describes itself as, “A visionary partnership between Plymouth State University and Grafton County Economic Development Council to support entrepreneurship, business education and the expansion of the commerce in central New Hampshire.”

At 5pm people gathered in the Silver center to celebrate the opening with faculty and staff of both the Enterprise Center and Plymouth State. Before the opening ceremony there were tours given of the center followed by food and cocktails at the Silver Center. After hors d’oeurvres were served speeches began at 6pm starting with Mike Tentnowski the executive director of the Enterprise Center. He was happy to announce, “6 companies join the Enterprise Center at Plymouth. We are completely occupied of available space as of today.” Once more space is added on they are hoping to have space for up to 15 businesses. Narrative One, Keene Systems Inc., TotalScope Marketing, Mabbs Robinson are some of the thriving small businesses that occupy the centers space. Along with flexible office space the building contains a focus group room with an observation room behind it. There is also a Moc interview room as well as a Moc sales office. Phase two of the construction will include a green room for commercials and advertising as wells as even more flexible office space.

The chairman of TotalScope Marketing, Mark LaClair was able to give more insight on just what these companies are here to do. “Our business as well as the others are here to coach and mentor new businesses as well as build relationships with the staff and students.” LaClair wants students to know that TotalScope marketing is looking for students with the following skills: design, web programming, graphic design, videographer/photography as well as writers and marketing interns. All of the business in the Enterprise Center as well the Enterprise Center itself is looking for interns.
