PLYMOUTH-Smoke billowed throughout downtown Plymouth as fire overtook a three family apartment, leaving ten people homeless, at 28 Railroad Square. The building also housed local business, Psychedelic Porpoise.
Plymouth Fire Department received an emergency call and headed to the scene just before seven o’clock. By 8:30 p.m. the fire was still uncontained and the integrity of the steel roof was declining.
Fire departments from Ashland, Hebron, Waterville Valley, Campton, and Rumney were among those called to help battle the flames.
One woman was reported to have received injury to her ankle as she tried to exit the building, and was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire, and the building is considered to be a complete loss.
