“Kumar” Comes to Plymouth

On Oct. 25, Kal Penn, star of Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, spoke to students in the Fire Place Lounge on behalf of Students for Obama.

Penn came a month after his co-star, “Harold,” came and spoke on the Alumni Green, both actors imploring students to re-elect President Obama this November.

Penn, after working for the Obama administration as the Associate Director of Public Engagement, told the crowd that he, “went back to making shitty movies,” and then re-joined the campaign, speaking at universities and sharing his political ideals.

After Penn’s brief speech the crowd had no questions. Ben Wessel, the Youth Vote Director for Students for Obama NH, encouraged out-of-state voters to cast their votes in NH. The crowd then formed a line to take pictures with the star.

At the same time in the HUB, PSU Republicans held a “Shortest Political Quiz You’ll Ever Take,” and gave out Smarties candies, attempting to persuade students to vote for their candidates.
