Ski Day 2013

Student Senate hosted its annual Ski Day event on Feb. 13, at Cannon Mountain. Classes were curtailed until 5:30 p.m. and numerous PSU students flocked to Cannon for a day of skiing and snowboarding.

The two major events were the King of the Mountain Race and a Rail Jam contest. In the King of the Mountain, participants “raced down the mountain with a glass of water, the first one down the mountain won,” said senior business administration major, Mark Moran.

At the Rail Jam, contestants had two runs to impress the crowd and the judges. The features of the Rail Jam were, “a hip jump, a flat rail, an up-box, to a flat barrel, to a rainbow rail,” stated senior business administration major, Niel Pichette

The skiing and snowboarding conditions and atmosphere made Ski Day  successful. “I felt like I was on the T.V. show Cheers, where everybody knew your name,” said Pichette.

The Clock hopes everyone at PSU enjoyed their day off to hit the slopes, and look forward to another splendid Ski Day next year.
