1. Men’ssoccer(LastIssue:UR) The Plymouth State Men’s Soccer team won in overtime on Saturday afternoon by defeating conference rival Keene state college 2-1. Led by Nick Rutherford (Sydney, Australia) who scored both goals in the victory, Plymouth earned their second victory at Keene in as many years.
2. Football (Last Issue: 1): Defense played a major role in Saturdays 17-7 victory for the Plymouth State Football team as they moved to 3-1 overall this season. Along with two interceptions by Sophomore Prince Gbaley (Manchester, NH), who also had a punt returned for a touchdown, the panther defense forced three turnovers and allowed only one touchdown.
3. Women’s Volleyball: (Last Issue: UR) : The Plymouth State Volleyball team picked up a win last Saturday against Endicott in five sets after a four-set loss to Babson. Francie Shaffer (Frederick, CO) led the Panthers with nine kills while Claire Sporer (Medford, OR) helped them earn the victory with 14 kills.
4. Men’s Cross Country: (Last Issue: UR) The Men’s Cross-Country team earned a sixth-place finish last weekend at the James Earley invitational at Westfield State University. Junior Sam Brunnette (Newport, VT) was Plymouth’s top finisher as he took home first place.
Individual athletes
1. Junior Mitch Banuskevich (Milford, NH) (Brookfield, MA) Football: Banuskevich enjoyed a career day as he scored the lone touchdown for Plymouth State while rushing for 168 Yards and received
for 40 yards in Saturdays 17-7 win over Bridgewater State.
2. Junior Sam Brunnette (Newport, VT) Men’s Cross Country: Brunnette was the top finisher for the Men’s cross-country team after finishing first overall last Saturday. Based on his performance, he was recently named LEC Cross Country Runner of the Week.
3. Senior Nick Rutherford (Sydney, Australia) Men’s soccer: The co-captain of the Men’s team enjoyed a multi goal day as he scored both goals including the game winner with 70 seconds left in overtime against Keene State.
4. Senior Brenna Peruch (Cave Creek, AZ) Volleyball: Peruch enjoyed a 28 dig performance during the four-set match against Bates College last week. Her performance earned the D3 Hero of the Week Award.
