Music: During the week of October 8, 2007, the single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” by Soulja Boy regained its spot at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It had initially been knocked off of the top of the charts by “Stronger” by Kanye West on September 29 . However, the single reclaimed the position on October 6, and would stay there until November 10.

Movies: Also during this week in 2007, films such as the gangster drama “We Own the Night” (starring Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix and Christopher Walken) and comedy “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?” (starring–of course– Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson) were the most popular movies in the world of cinema.

Video Games: For gamers, “Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels for Wii” was all the rage during this week ten years ago, as the Nintendo Wii continued to gather hype as a gaming console.

Books: “Playing for Pizza” by John Grisham gave legions of Grisham fans more to read during this week in 2007, knocking “You’ve Been Warned” by James Patterson and Howard Roughan off of the top of “The New York Times” bestseller list.
