Graduation is right around the corner for many students this semester at PSU. This is also a time for reflection, a look back on the paths many took throughout their Plymouth State experience to get to this point.
For some, college was all about getting to this point, for others it was about the journey. Either way graduation is an achievement to be celebrated. Reflecting on his senior year is Aaron Maddux, a social studies education major. “It's a Bittersweet feeling knowing I’ll be graduating soon,” said Maddux. “I'm excited at the opportunities I will have when I leave, but I'm also upset because my four years here have flown by so incredibly quick. “
With graduation marking a culmination of many classes, work, and endless hours of studying, it is always good to recognize those who are there as supporters. “There are a lot of people who I could say are my biggest supporters, however, I think my biggest supporter is my mom,” said Maddux. She's so proud of me, and everything I've accomplished with so many road bumps along the way. She's never stopped supporting me.”
The best part about graduation is that regardless of background, age, or prior schooling everyone at the ceremony can say they truly earned their degree. “It’s a strange feeling to be honest. This year, and especially this semester has flown by so quickly that I can’t believe I will be graduating in less than 2 months,” said Alexander Boudreau, a senior interdisciplinary studies major. “This won’t be my first time graduating from college; I graduated from Lakes Region Community College 2 years ago,” said Boudreau. “Now that this is my final stretch of my academic career at Plymouth I am ready for that next step.”
While it is true that graduation means growing up even more, and starting various careers it is truly something to be celebrated by one and all the amount of experience is worth it all. Congratulations to all graduating panthers.
