One More Year
One More Year
Starting out as a sports writer under long-time editors Matt Ormsbee and Eric Brill, I never though I would see the day where I would be running the show here with The Clock. Here I am, thinking about what exactly to say as we round out another successful semester of journalism.
One of the most important things to keep in mind as an audience is that we are a completely student-based newspaper. From freshmen to seniors, there are a number of writers, photographers, advertisers and editors who are experiencing a new role, a role where they must work outside of a school setting. For many of them, this is a new concept.
With these students, I cannot express how grateful I am for the work that they do. Each and every member of The Clock plays such an important role to the PSU community. It’s hard work, reporting. And, as grumpy as I can be, I have so much respect and admiration for everyone who’s been involved this semester. I truly mean that.
With that said, I’m excited to say that I’m retaining the position as Editor-in-Chief. I cannot describe what The Clock has done for me so far, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.
Sitting here alongside my colleagues, it seems like the nights that last until morning in the office will never end. Danielle Racamato and Simon Pierpont rapping along with Chance the Rapper, Sarah Liebowitz laughing and re-reading her section for the 100th time. Someday, I’ll look back at this and remember how much fun we’ve all had, and what The Clock did for me; what it did for all of us.
I have one more year with this student newspaper. I can guarantee you, my staff and I will do our very best to put together a professional publication.
Thanks for an amazing fall semester Plymouth State; The Clock looks forward to seeing you in the spring.
Justin Siewierski Editor-in-Chief
