PSU's Winter Carnival Recap

From Feb. 13-18, Plymouth State held its annual Winter Carnival week. The week included many fun activities.

Each day had its own individual events. Monday was a snow day, so the mug giveaway and cereal bar were moved to Tuesday. On Monday at 8 p.m. Center Lodge held a Paint Night. It ended up being a full house and was a successful night.

Tuesday at 8 p.m., Prospect Dinning Hall held Winter Carnival Bingo. There was a chance to win a multitude of prizes that added up to over $150. Many attendees went home that night with winnings.

Wednesday was a day dedicated to skiing and snowboarding. Ski Day took place at Waterville, and all classes before 5 p.m. were canceled.

Waterville gave free ski rentals, and free passes for skiing and tubing. By 10 a.m., all of Waterville’s snowboards had been rented out. Many students came to the event, which was brought to Plymouth State by Student Senate.

On Thursday at 11 a.m., letter art took place in the Fire Place Lounge. Later that day there was a PSU men’s hockey game at 6 p.m. against Fitchburg State that resulted in a 2-1 loss in overtime. After the game, PACE hosted a free skate night.

On Friday at 11 a.m., photo snow globes were available in the Fire Place Lounge. This event let students get their picture put into a snow globe, which they could take home.

The first Snow Ball held in Heritage Commons began at 9 p.m. Sodexo catered the event and had a large selection of food and a “Mocktail” Bar.

On Saturday, comedian Nick Vatterott performed an entertaining show in the HUB Hage room. There was almost a full house.

After the long week of festivities, Plymouth State was ready to resume work for the normal weeks ahead.
