National Young Feminist Leadership Conference
National Young Feminist Leadership Conference
During the weekend of March 24th-27th I was able to attend the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference in Washington, DC. The conference was meant for students that felt passionate about fighting for equal rights, liberties, and opportunities for all people, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, or religion.
Geared towards Feminists, the conference was anything but underwhelming. Panels of the world's most influential and powerful women took place back to back from 10am-8pm. Elanor Smeal, the leader of the The Feminist Majority Foundation worked to make the event possible.
Throughout the NYFLC, there were opportunities to meet other feminists of various ages. It’s easy to relate to one another because you’re all standing for the future of civil action. The turnout was incredible; hundreds of people from all over the country came to further the feminist fight for equality. When you share a passion it’s easy to relate to one another and that is an important component when working towards similar goals.
