During the week of October 15, 2007, the single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” by Soulja Boy still had the #1 spot on the Billboard 200. It had been knocked down from the spot by Kanye West earlier in the year, but bounced back for a lengthy stay, which would last until November 10.

During this week, the film “Gone, Baby, Gone,” a film adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel by the same name (starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Monaghan, Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman) was gaining notoriety at the box office and via reviews.

Video Games:

“Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground” was released for a slew of different consoles during this week, and helped continue to satiate fans of the skater franchise. Also, “Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals” came out for the PC, and was all the rage for those who loved building their own virtual zoos.

During this week in 2007, “Playing for Pizza” by John Grisham was still on the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Grisham, who is known for law-based books, tackled new ground with this sports novel.
