Winter Wonderland?

Winter Wonderland?

With living in the beautiful and gorgeous state we call New Hampshire comes a lot of annoyances. The biggest of these is of course the snow. I know it sounds like I am screaming at the clouds when I say this but it really is a big weight on all of our shoulders. Yes I agree, it is great at the beginning of the winter season. The weather begins to cool down to a refreshing temperature after spending a few months constantly cooking at 90 degrees. The first snowfall of the year is always one of the most welcoming sites during the holiday season. Fresh powder on the mountains for when you got an extra five bucks to laying around to spend at Waterville, or Loon if you took advantage of their season pass deal and won’t stop talking about it.

I know I know, I am preaching to the choir here. Every year and every snowfall, there is always somebody who is fed up and wishes to be “taken back to summer”. That person is me. Usually I’m pretty accepting of the crazy weather New England receives but wow this year has been annoying. Every day I am trying to combat the bone chilling temperatures that feel like it's reached the single digits even though the weather app on everyone's phones says its 40 and sunny. Recently we have had a strange stretch of comfortably warm days. Sure, they weren’t anything to get super excited about, but I’ll take mid 50’s and sunny over low 20’s and cloudy any day. Just the other week we had a day where we saw it jump into the 60’s. Next thing you know there is a couple of inches of snow on the ground and the euphoria of an early start to spring was quickly taken from all of us. Now, as I sit here in the office writing this, we are currently getting hit with a potential 12-16 inches of snow in the latest edition of nor’easters. Remember when the word nor’easter would mean snow day? Well it still does but now I have to worry about my car being towed from my own driveway and then worry about it being potentially towed or ticketed for moving somewhere else. Well I guess we have spring break to look forward to. Hope everyone is going somewhere about 800 miles south of here. Away from the ice, the slush, the snow, the classes and the parking tickets. Have fun and stay safe, Plymouth.
