2nd Annual Panther Prowl
The Panther Prowl is a motorcycle ride in support of Plymouth State University student scholarships, focused on students from the North Country. It’s a unique way to fundraise while taking advantage of the beautiful mountains surrounding Plymouth.
Riders must pay a $40 registration fee, and all proceeds will go to the Kelsey Scholarship for North Country Students.
The ride will be led by PSU alumna and employee, Rachel Roy, '86. Riders of all ages are welcome. “I actually missed out on the first annual last year, but it was a fun time and they were blessed with great weather, and we hope to grow the event more each year,” Rachel said.
Riders will meet no later than 9:45am on Sunday, September 30th at the Ice Arena. They will be departing at 10am.
“The exact route depends upon weather and where the best foliage is, but will include a stop at Windy Ridge Orchard in North Haverhill,” Rodney Ekstroms, Director of Alumni Relations said, “There the group will take a break, enjoy the views, and then make their way back to PSU for lunch at the Panther Pub and Grille.” It’s sure to be a lovely day in the great outdoors.
“We love to ride with pride!” Rachel said, “We are gathering students, staff, alumni, friends, family and community members to help with scholarship efforts, for the Thomas and Elizabeth Kelsey North Country Scholars Fund, while sharing the bliss of riding in such an amazing, scenic place that we enjoy here in Plymouth area.”
The Panther Prowl has attracted significant attention to PSU scholarships. “We have a $10,000 donation from Anagnost Companies,” Rodney said. The fundraising is already off to a strong start. This event has already raised a significant amount of funds, and this is only its second year.
“I love the connections and reconnections that are happening all over campus, and this is just another way of adding to the process,” Rachel said. For more information and to sign up, go to plymouth.edu/homecoming.
