The photos were taken at the scene of the crime from that fateful day in April 1994, however, they were just recently developed after having been stored in a police vault since the case was opened. The pictures were developed for a re-examination, which confirmed Cobain's death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Those interested in viewing the pictures can do so at

This coming April fifth will mark the twentieth anniversary of Cobain's death. Nirvana will also be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April tenth. Latest Opeth Album Complete, Targeted June Release

Swedish progressive-metal titans Opeth have completed a follow-up to 2011's controversial album, Heritage. Much isn't being said about what the yet-to-be-titled album may sound like, other than the fact that it will build off of where Heritage left off, in that guttural vocals will be completely void from the album. This absence was a huge point of controversy that caused a very wide schism amongst hardcore-Opeth fans.

"It's a bit heavier than Heritage at times and it's a bit more melodic," said Mikael Åkerfeldt, vocalist, guitarist, and brainchild of the band in discussing the album with Loudwire."I think it should be a bit easier to get into this record because there's a lot of focus on the melodies. We're a progressive band. Sometimes we sound like a metal band and sometimes we don't."

Greg Kennelty of Metal Injection has also commented on the album, saying, "This record conveys the widest range of emotions I think I've ever heard Opeth convey. [...] This record is either the missing link between Damnation and Ghost Reveries or if Heritage was written directly after Ghost Reveries."

An exact release date has yet to be determined by the band, however they have promised the record will be released sometime in June.
