Entrepreneurship competition inspires USNH

Plymouth State University, Keene State College and the University of New Hampshire are hosting a competition for students geared towards fostering entrepreneurship with the theme of, “Think. Create. Innovate.” The Kauffman Foundation, as well as The New York Times and Inc. Magazine, sponsor the competition as part of EntrepreneurshipWeek U.S.A., which runs from February 24 to March 3.

The “Take It On!,” initiative “will be designed to stimulate on-going interest from individuals and organizations serving as an educational kick-start for the uninitiated, and an inspiration for young people to begin a journey to fulfill their potential as self-starters and entrepreneurs,” states the sponsor website, EntrepreneurshipWeekUSA.com.

The contest is designed to promote new ideas for potential products, business plans and non-profit organizations. Submissions for ideas are due November 17, with a showcase happening on November 30. Prizes for winners include $500 and the opportunity to have your idea on the NYT website.

The contest is open to any students from Keene, PSU or UNH. Participants can find all the relevant information like judging, submission details and contest rules at entrepreneurshipweek.com or visit myspace.com/takeiton.
