Band of the Day App
Today, everybody is looking for the next big thing in music before it becomes popular. Whether it’s looking through videos on YouTube or hearing about it through a friend, it’s hard to find good music that isn’t already over played on the radio. The new app “Band of the Day” is for anyone looking to add to his or her music collection with unknown bands.
The best thing is it isn’t for just one genre of music, but instead covers all different types of bands. The app is set up as a 30-day calendar, giving the user a different band recommendation of an entirely different style just about every day. When the user open the app, an artist is already shown with the band’s name on the top. From there the user can pick days of the month and see past bands displayed on previous days with a brief description of the type of music the band delivers. If a band sparks the user’s curiosity, the band’s bio, music videos on YouTube, and albums can be viewed with one press of the finger.
It’s a very simple app that gives anyone with a small to large range of music taste the opportunity to find new and amazing music. Bands like Charming Liars, Kartell, and The Pigeon Detectives can be found very easily. The app also gives the user the ability to share the band on Facebook and Twitter with a single touch. Other features include rating the bands, quotes from the bands themselves, lyrics of the songs, and the band’s origin.
“Band of the Day” is not just for bands, but individual rappers and singers too. The best part is if the user doesn’t like the recommended bands, they only have to wait a day to get another recommendation. It’s nonstop good music and, the part that makes every college student smile, it’s free. So if someone is looking for a good app to help broaden their musical horizons and wants to go exploring into the unknowns of the music world, this is the app to get.
