Senior Checklist

The fall semester is coming to an end, and that means Plymouth State University's Class of 2014 is getting closer to the end of their college careers and receiving the diplomas they have worked so hard for. With graduation approaching, there are many different things that this year's seniors have to take into account: degree requirements to complete, deadlines to meet, and financial obligations to fulfill. All of these things need to be met before PSU's seniors can think about their Commencement Ceremony on May 17.
Some of the most important deadlines for seniors to keep in mind are the deadlines to submit their Petition to Graduate. There are several different deadlines that a student can meet in order to petition to graduate at a different time. The closest of these is the deadline for the submission of a students Petition to Graduate on May 17, 2014. The deadline for this Petition is February 1. The second of these forms is the Petition to Graduate on June 30, 2014. This form has to be submitted by March 1.
With so many different dates and forms for seniors to have to keep track of, it can be easy to get a little overwhelmed with the amount of work that has to be put into graduating. However, some seniors aren't feeling the same stress as others.
Eben Brown, a Music Education major in his senior year, recently had his jury performance determining whether or not he would graduate in the spring. "It's easier now that the jury deadline is over. It's stressful, but it's really exciting," said Brown. When asked about deadlines that he felt were the most important, "I have my senior recital to get through, but it's all sailing from there," said Brown.
When reminded about some of the financial deadlines that had to be met, "Financial deadlines are the only things I don't have control over, but I know I'm going to take care of it," said Brown.
Since they are in a transitional phase in the Office of Student Affairs, the Plymouth State University website currently has nothing on the 2014 Commencement page. Once the commencement information is up online, all of the official deadline information will be available. It can be found under the Commencement section on PSU's website.
