Plymouth Alternative Weekend (P.A.W.) presented the P.A.W. Kick Off Event on Thursday, January 31, from 9-11p.m. in the HUB Courtroom. This was a one-night event that showcased some of the great clubs and organizations at Plymouth State.

"My highlight was seeing all of the people that signed up for my roommate's new ultimate Frisbee club," said junior Tegan Donnelly.

The event gave away free food to all students and t-shirts to those who donated a canned good. P.A.W had chair massages and held small games such as Minute To Win It events, basketball skill shooting, and an inflatable obstacle course.

"The obstacle course was a blast, it was great to mingle with my peers and do something productive with my weekend," said sophomore Katlyn Hall.

The Outdoor Center offered equipment demos, and s'mores making took place in the Fireplace Lounge, along with cupcake decorating tables for people that were interested in fun new cooking tricks and ideas.

"There were a lot of people there -everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the s'more kits were genius," said senior Audrey Brown.

The event also was a small rendition of the Student Activities Fair that occurs each semester to inform students of fun organizations offered on campus.

"My roommates and I enjoyed the photo booth, the event was a lot of fun, I hope they do it again next year," said Hall.

There are over a hundred clubs at PSU; to name a few, Conning Tower Yearbook, the Medieval Society, PACE, Poets and Writers, PSU Pride, and United Campus Ministries, and other student organizations, and yours truly...The Clock Newspaper.

"I am so glad I found some alternatives I can do with my weekend, since I don't go out much," said sophomore Elizabeth Salvesky.

"This is put on by the student activities office which supplies activities Thursday-Saturday nights from 8-11ish. This gives students an opportunity to meet new people as well as do something different," said senior Stephanie Melo.

The point of the event was to give students alternative activities at night rather than going out or not doing anything with their night.

"P.A.W. isn't to make students not go out and drink on a Thursday-Saturday nights. Instead, it is giving students an outlet to socialize and make use of the thousands of dollars they are contributing," said junior Kayla Grimes.
