U2 Partners with RED and Bank of America to Launch Invisible

Irish rock legends U2 made worldwide headlines during Sunday's Super Bowl, when they premiered their new single, entitled Invisible. The single was listed on iTunes the same day for free in order to raise awareness for AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. The band, partnered with the RED Partnership and Bank of America, announced that they raised $1 million within the first hour of promotion and $3 million in 36 hours, respectively. In an interview with USA Today, lead singer Bono commented on the track,"We have another song we're excited about to kick off the album. This is just sort of a sneak preview to remind people we exist." Despite an original April release date, Bono has stated the band will continue working on their latest album with hopes for it to be released this summer. The song is still available for download on iTunes, but is now priced at $1.29. Proceeds from sales will still benefit RED and Bank of America.
