In contrast to many of the other comments posted, I think this prof. does a great job of communicating her expectations and presenting material in clear and understandable fashion. If you do not have quite a bit previous political science experience you will need to do the assigned readings. |

Had her for world politics. It was really difficult but i found it to be really fascinating. She opens your eyes to the news and whats going on in the world. Just read the text and study difficult and you'll do fine. |

I had her this past semester for Terrorism. Otucu is not the type of instructor to excite someone about a subject, her accent is difficult to understand. She is not very accommodating and grades in an unimpartial manner, she collects papers weekly at random, resulting in some people getting pick way more than others, I got picked once all semester. Avoid her. |

Very difficult class for me at the beginning. Although as the semester went on it got a little better. Terrorism is a difficult class when you take it with prof. Otucu. She can be difficult to understand and the material on the exam is difficulter than it needs to be. TONS of kids dropped the class after a month or two. Avoid if you can. |

Dr. Otucu is a phenomenal teacher, and goes above and beyond to be impartial. I can't help but think those who criticize her on here lack the ambition or drive to do the rigorous course studies she provides. She single handedly revived the Model UN Program, brings her students overseas, and gives a non-native "American" view point to the classroom. Win. |

The name of the course was World Politics but it would have been more suiting to call it "Why America Sucks and How You Are All Ruining the World." If anyone is interestd in a class that blames every problem in the world on America and a constant reminder about how the rest of the world dislikes us, than by all means sign up for this class immediatly. |
