Enactus is an international nonprofit organization founded on the principle that entrepreneurial action is the power that drives human progress. Guided by educators and supported by business leaders, teams of outstanding university students depart the classroom to create community development projects that empower people by putting their skills and talents at the center of improving lives.
Enactus Plymouth State has grown since its most recent competition in March, 2016. The competition has helped them expand their project portfolio to three social enterprises, and one commercial team. Youth in Action and Caring Scoops are two of their current projects. Youth in Action is working in partnership with the Pemi Youth Center in order to bring entrepreneurial spirit to the youth of Plymouth through the transference of empowerment and knowledge. Caring Scoops goal is meant to employ homeless veterans through the creation and distribution of ice cream. Two new projects were started this year; Re-Stitched and the Enactus PSU Commercial team.
“Enactus Plymouth State is working extremely hard to provide sustainable solutions through our projects, and this is making us one of the strongest teams in the Northeast,” said Tucker Moss Director of Projects for Enactus Plymouth State. While studying abroad in the UK, Tucker helped bring the UK Plymouth University Enactus team to a national competition. Tucker comments “Not only is this a great thing for our beneficiaries, but these projects set a great example of how entrepreneurial action can impact a community. All of our project teams are working extremely hard to create impact within our community. I look forward to sharing what we have accomplished this year with the larger Enactus community.”
