The women's basketball team fell to the Colby Sawyer Chargers of Colby-Sawyer 63-55, Tuesday night, at Foley Gymnasium in Plymouth. The Panthers had recently split their first two games, winning against Rivier and losing against Castleton in their most recent game.

The game was a back and forth affair that featured six lead changes and 12 ties. The Chargers would eventually pull ahead and secure an eight point lead late in the fourth quarter, giving them the victory.

The Panthers lead both teams with bench points outscoring Colby-Sawyer 21-13. However, Plymouth and Colby-Sawyer turned over the ball a combined 35 times with Plym- outh giving it up 20 times. This is what came back to bite the Panthers as they were only able to get 13 points off of the 15 turnovers that they forced, while the Chargers would score 25 points off of turnovers.

Senior guard Ace Lawrence (Middletown, CT) and senior forward Kayla Wyland (Melrose, Mass) lead the way for the Panthers scoring 12 points each. Coming off the bench, sophomore G/F Cassidy Emerson (Concord, N.H.) lead the Panthers with eight rebounds and three assists. Emerson also tallied 5 points and recorded a steal.

Plymouth is now 1-2 on the year. The team travels to Lyndon State (1- 2) for a 7:30 p.m. match on Thursday and then travel to Rhode Island College to take on the Anchorwomen (3-3) in their first LEC matchup of the season. Tip-off is at 1 p.m.
