As nineties kids we all have to agree that we grew up watching Disney movies. Regardless if you want to admit it or not, everyone has seen “The Lion King” or “Toy Story” at some point in their lives. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone should embrace their love for their favorite childhood movie, because of the simple fact that, they all have influenced us. They made us want to be princesses, heroes, or even the occasional bad guy. It does not matter what these movies were or were not to you, it does not matter if you loved or hated them, because we all have watched them and we all have fallen in love with at least one of them. However, incase anyone has been under a rock lately, Disney has been remaking all of the classics. Now, some of us could care less about the remaking of the Disney movies but some of us have been counting down the days till the new “Beauty and The Beast” comes out.
So how are us nineties kids feeling about the remakes? I mean, I am a firm believer in the classics. The versions with the cartoon characters who all have goofy and corny punch lines. Whose characters are all voice casted by famous actors and actresses. All the movies had the same sort of storyline but they all were unique in their own ways. Each one finding its way into our hearts, but the new movies have amazing effects and are so life like. The new versions also are somewhat scarier than the originals and have more thought-out themes throughout.
One movie that has been remade
recently was “The Jungle Book.” It came out about a year ago. When I went to see it, I was already bias about how it could never be as good as the one I watched when I was little but it actually was pretty good. It was intense, realistic, and different. I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat wondering how they were going to wrap it up in the end. So because of this more adult version of Disney movies, I feel that Disney is still trying to appeal to nineties kids and have not forgotten about us.
So on March 17th, the newly remade “Beauty and The Beast” will be coming to theaters. If you are a Disney movie fanatic, you will be there in a heartbeat. If you are not, here are some reasons why you should go. Belle, the main female character, is being played by Emma Watson. Secondly, even if you think you are too grown up to go watch another Disney movie it’s still worth giving a chance to reconnect with your childhood. So, go and make your inner five-year-old self happy. If that's not enough motivation to go, then just think of Emma Watson.
